.*, [By Tslegbaph.] Donedin, Oct. 31. The Central Committee of the Masonic Union have recommended that the delegates should postpone convening the Grand Lodge for threo months. Sir H. A, Atkinson convenes a conference ot District and Provincial Grand Masters in Dunedin on January 9th to consider the position and promote unanimity. Wellington, Oot. 31. . The recommendation of the Maeonio Union to delay the calling together of tbe Grand Lodge for three months is consequent on the Governor's expressing an opinion in favour of delay, and the fact that a meeting of the D.G-.M.'s and P.G.M.'s of the three Constitutions has been convened to consider the poaitioD . New Plymouth, Oct. 31. At a meeting of tbe Da Burgh Adams Lodge, IC, last night, it was almost unanimously re-solved that the project of forming a Grand Lodge of New Zealand is premature. CH ISTCHORCH, Oct. 31. At a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the Masonic Union to-night, the following resolutions were unanimouely adopted; — " In view of the fact of his Excellenoy the Governor having advised the postponement of the formation of a Grand Lodge for New Zealand until there is greater unanimity among the craft on the question of nniting under one constitution, this branch of the New Zealand Masonic Union considers it advisable to recommend delay in bringing into operation the resolutions adopted at the convention held in Wellington in September last until after the proposed mooting of Distriot and Provinoial Grand Masters, to be held in Dun» edin on 9th January ;" " That the members of this Union, whilst agreeing with tbe propriety of the delay suggested, desire to reiterate their emphatic opinion that the uniting of the three constitutions now existing in New Zealand wili be of the greatest benefit to the craft ;" " That his Excellency the Governor be requested to grant an interview to a deputation during his stay in Christchurch."
