The Council met at 2. 30 pini. _ A bill providing for the transfer of the Athenaeum reserve at Queenstown in Lake Coanty-to^the Corporation -of the Borough was read a first time. • : • On the motion of Sir F. -Whitaser a Select ' Committee was appointed to inquire into and report on each harbour* of the colony under the control of a harbour board. The second reading of the Medical Practitioners' Bill was moved by Mr Stevens and the debate ultimately adjourned till Tuesday next;' 1 -- - ■ -■- ' ■ -■-•■-••■• ••■ ■ ■ ■■■■■ •■••■<■. The Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks Bill was further ,jconsidered in committee and reported with amendments. The Council rose at 3.35 p.m. till Thursday.
