Riversdale
(FROM OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.) About 150 farmers and other attended the sale of land belong to the N.Z. Agricultural Co, for one year's crop, which took place at Riversdale on Tuesday. Mr Pease wielded the hammer. Keen competition existed and the whole area— over 3000 acres— was disposed of at an average price of about 13s per acre, as much as 26s 6d Jjeuig P ai<l P er acre for one block. At a, meeting of the Waimea Plains Ploughing Matcli Association, held at Riversdale on Tuesday, Mr t W. A. Donald presiding, it was decided to hold the annual ploughing match at Waimea on 26th inst. The Club has a little over L 23 to its credit. The sum of L 24 was promised by those present, thus bringing the total credit balance up to nearly LSO. The following officers were elected :— President, Mr Donald; Vice- Presidents, Messrs Bell and Pease ; Hon. Sec, Mr Hamilton ; Treasurer, Mr McDougall. A 3trong cqmmittee was appointed to carry out the necessary arrangements for the match. 3rd.Ttily, 1889.
