Five thousand paid-up shares to be allotted to the present proprietors, and 15,000 contributing shares are offered for private subscription at 5s per share, payable 2s fid per share on application, and 2s 6d when allotted, to be paid within one month. Ordinary calls not to exceed 3d per Bhare per month Provisional Dieectoes: Mr John Mitchell Mr W. S. Moir Mr B. D. Yule Mr David Hunter Mr J. S. Baxter Mr Jas. Brown Bankebs : Colonial Bank of New Zealandj Solicitors : Messrs Macdonald and Bussell. Bboeees : Messrs C. W. Brown, Esk-Street, Invercargill, and J. and W. Gage, Battray street, Dunedin. The above Company iB formed to acquire and work the valuable lease taken up \>y Hunter and party on tbe Nokomai Flat^comprising 9 acres 3 roods and 32 poles, the pick of the Flat, and acknowledged by all the old Nokomai miners to be the best claim in the district. The Messrs Hunters put down a shaft on the lease during the exceptionally fine weather last summer, and proved a seam of four feet wash dirt to contain 2 dwts. to the dish, but as a superior blue washdirt was known to exist at the bottom they decided to prove it before opening out on the upper level. Before thiß was accomplished the wet weather set in, and their Tangye engine was unable to compete with the water. Since then it has been proved by the sinking of another shaft that the blue wash does exist, as •they passed through five feet of it before reaching the rock, also payable, although not so rich as the seam in No. 1 shaft of red washdirt. They have therefore agreed to sell the lease and the plant to fcliis Company on. tlie following terms, via : — £5000, which they have agreed to accept in paid up shareß in order that a strong Company may be formed for the purpose of working the lease to the greatest advantage by the application of the best appliances which science and the progress of mining industry have developed. It is likely that dividends will be paid at once owing to the facility of working the seam already referred to as soon as larger pumping gear is obtaiued, and this can go on whilst more extensive works are in progress for the systematic working of the claim. The Hunter Bros, have also matured a scheme for working the whole of the lease with a minimum of cost to the shareholders, and in a manner that will dispense with heavy pumping machinery. The Nokomai Flat is so well known for its auriferous deposits that it is unnecessary to say much about it, suffice it to say that the miners have always been working along its edges, and have followed the precious metal as far as they could get for water, ahd the universal opinion is that there narej heavy deposits of gold, which science and machinery alone can reach. - Thio has been, confirmed as far as it has been tested by the Hunter Brothers, and it remains for the Company to push forward the work which has been continued so perseveiingly by the Hunter Brothers, and reap the fruits of their labours as it has been shown that it can be made a paying concern from the start. It is therefore anticipated tbat there will be a large demand for shares, and they will accordingly be allotted in the order in which the applications are received. Applications for shares must be made on a form for the purpose, and forwarded with a deposit of 2s 6d per share to Mr C. W. Brewn, Esk street, Invercargill ; or Messrs J. and W. Gage, Battray street, Dunedin, the brokers for the Company, or the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, or any of its branches, from either of whom prospectuses and forms of application can be had.
