CAMPBELLTOWN, Wednesday, 10tu March. (Before J. G. Ward, Esq., J.P.) A RUFFIAN. Joha Sullivan alias 4 Burns, a sailor pleaded l! Not Guilty " to a chargtj of havj ing been druak and disorderly, He was further charged with resialiag the police. From tho evidence of Sergeant Nickle and Constable Fouhy it appeared that the prisoner on being arreeted became very obstreperous. It, was with difficulty that handcuffs were put on him and afterwards his f«et ha^l to be strappad ; even then it was by the aid of a' number of civilises that be was got to the lock up. H^'s fastenings, howover, did not prevent him from kicking, nor shouting most abominable expresaionß, nor from biting ; savagery which Constable Fouhy'a hands bore testimony to. As the [prisoner had previously distinguished himself at the same practices he waa fined Ll— in default 7 days' imprisonment — on tho first charge, Lsor 8 weeks in gaol on the second, He went to gaol.
