Blßi-i--The backdoor of Bbuthland is up the Waikaia Valley, and a thousand ponnds was Voted to form the necessary track during the last session of Parliament! Unfortunately it appears that this money is not forthcoming, the Minister of Mines haviDg deliberately ignored all the efforts of the County Council to obtain this most necessary openditiire. it is all very well for people fartalk, tat gold is the only profitable in* dastry we have at present, and the expenditure of tbis money means opening up the Tflatest and motfc likely diggings in New Uealand.
