DUNEDIN MARKETS.

(By Telegraph.) DuNEDirf, Aug. 5, Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan aud Mercantile Agency Co. Limited), reports for the week ended oth Aug., as follows: — Fat Cattle — A small supply, viz., 13 uead, was yarded at Burnside to-day for the week-: requirements. Most of these were good to prime quality. In consequence of the small supply forward last week, pries showed considerable improvement on last week's rates. Best bullocks brought £0 to £12 5s ; others, £5 2s Hd to £8 108, and cows in proportion. We quote prime beef, 22s (5d to 235, aud ordinary, 20s to 22a Od per lOOlbs.— Fat Sheep— ld 32 were peuned, of which 720 were merinos, and the biilacce crossbred (only a few of which were prime). Competition was active, arid prices for prime mutton advanced 2s to 2s 6d per head, whilst oulinary remained much about the same as last week. We quote prime mutton, :> i per lb : ordinary. 2d to "2 Jd. Wheat— Business is steady at hst quotations. Bay, prime velvet and Tuscan, Ms 2d to 3s 3d; medium, 2s 9d to Ss Id ; iuferior, 2s 4d to -.'s 8d ; fowl wheat, 2a to 2s 3d, ex i-tore. Oats are in moderate request, but as buyers decliue to accede to sellers' demands, vix., 2s for gtoufc miHiDg, and Is 9d to Is lid for bright feed, there is but little business doing. Discoloured and medium feed i 3 moving off at Is 7d to Is 9d ; must}- and inferior, at Is to Is od. Barley is in but small demand, and there is no change iv prices to report.
