LONDON, June 26. The Kight Hon. Robert Parrett Collier, K.B , has been raised to the peerage, and the Marquis of Northampton and the Earl of fiefton have been invested with the Order c>f the Q-artßr. June 27. The wheat market shows a slight improvement on last quotations. Twa bffgoast cargoes have been aold at 35s 9d, and also one on the passage has realised Ms 6d 5 for July ehfpraents, 37a haa been obtained. It is estimated that tho yield of the American wheat crop will be largely below the average. ■ At the wool sales the bidding was flat and irregular. For the series 228,000 bales have been catalogued, of which 32,000 were withdrawn. The circular despatches relating to the fortifications of Albany suggest the cooperation of England and the colonies with regard to naval defence. Mr Spenceley has been elected as the "Liberal cahdfdale for Finsbury. The draft regulation regarding the reoidivietee i» now being drawn up. The German expedition to Now Guinea departs on Monday, June 28. Q-ermany and Austria are encouraging England to adopt a firmer policy in the a i ministration of Egyptian affairs: Earl Spencer has leit for Ireland.
