Mr Kinross's Grievance.

♦— TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Mr Kinross in his letter to you of this day states that he, Mr Kinross, never desired to interfere with his fellowmembers of the Southland County in the management of their ridings. I know of no greater attempt that can be made at interference than striving to obtain money for his ridine at the expense ofthe other ridings, which is what Mr Kinrols has tried to do. As to the Awarua riding not having the money collected witbin itself spent there, Mr Kinross well knows that, so far from this being the case, Awarua is at present indebted to the Oreti riding L 750. In reference to the expenditure of the LlO named by Mr Kinross, if Mr Kinross chooses to feel piqued and refuse to move in the matter — which the large majority ef the Council felt was a necessity — I think few will impute improper motives to the members who assisted Awarua in getting the work done. As to Mr Kinross' fancy tbat he is an authority upon constitutional questions, he may as well enjoy himself .—This don't hurt yours, &c, J. S. SHANKS. Mataura, Feb. 18th, 1884.
