|By Telegraph! Auckland, Feb. 9. Sailed—Doric, s.s, for the South. No passengers shipped, at Auckland. The steamer took in £10,000 worth of cargo for London, consisting of wool, gum, and island produce. The steamer Waitaki narrowly escaped filling at Whangarei through a port in the forecabin being left open while coaling. The water was within two inches of putting the fires out in the engine-room when the flow of water was arrested by bucket gangs and pumps, and the Kamo Coal Co thus escaped a loss of £20,000. Port Chalmers, Feb. 10. Sailed, yesterday —The ship Trevelyan, Capt. Roberts, for London, with a cargo of grain and wool, value for £-»,3t>B.
