The Government intimated last week that they would cease running trains over the Duntroon-Hakateramea Railway Company's line. The cause of the cessation of traffic has been to a certain extent remedied, and the Government now announce that they will Jcontinuej running trains for another week. It rests with the company also, which owe the Government money, whether any further interruption in the traffic takes place. A public meeting of settlers was held at Kurow on Friday night in regard to the stoppage of traffic. Sunday. All the nominations received yesterday by the returning officers for the four licensing districts were made in the Blue Ribbon Army interest. Two of the districts in which only five candidates were proposed were formally declared to have elected their committees, but the other two, owing to a non-rater nominating, were declared informal. Only for this all the licensiug committees would have been Blue Ribbon .nominees. DUNEDIN, Sunday. The Railway Department ran a Saturday excursion train into the country for the first time yesterday, going nearly 40 miles for 5s return. Though the weather was fine, only 40 people went ; the start being made at 8.30 a.m. We are having glorious summer weather now, and the best anticipations are in- '■ dulged in of a good harvest.
