♦ — Friday, Bth Feb. (Before H. McCulloch, Esq., K.M.) COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Joseph Limbrick was charged with having, on 19th ult., in the Princess Hotel, Dee street, Invercargill, attempted to commit suicide by cuttiDg his throat. Accused had since been in the hospital, but his injuries were not severe. In the course of the evidence taken Mr Bridge deposed ' that Limbrick had not been drinking at j the time of the alleged aot, but appeared I to be depressed by the lose of some pro.
perty. Accused was committed for tria. at the next sitting of the District Court. CIVIL BUSINESS. Shepherd v. James Carey.— Claim, LI Is on a judgment summons. To be paid forthwith; with 5s costs ; in default, one week's imprisonment. — Fotheringham v. E. Condon.—Claim, L 4. Mr Wade for plaintiff. Judgment for amount by default : costs,L15 3 6d. Tozzi v. A. Feldwick. Mr Matthews applied for a rehearing in this cbbo, which was a claim for hairdressing in which plaintiff had been nonsuited. — His Worship having pointed out that wrilten application had not been made as provided by the rules of procedure, the hearing was adjourned till next week.
