Affording a means of investing money in large or small sums for fixed periods, or at call by the issue of Debentures. 3. The lending of money upon the security of real estate, either in the shape of land, dwelling houses, business premises, or buildings belonging to Incorporated Societies. 4. The redemption of Mortgages by a series of fortnightly payments, extending over 7, 9, or 1 1 years. 5. Those who receive weekly wag6S can put past their savings, however small, which will accumulate with compound interest till the shares mature or reach the sum of £25 when the money is handed over. The following are some of the recent alterations in the Rules — The entrance fee is reducpd from 2s 6d per share to Is ; and the transfer fee from 2s to Is, Advances may be made on Mortgages of real estate, to be repaid with interest in such manner as shall appear to the Directors desirable. Shareholders may borrow on the security of investing shares of one year's standing, instead of two years' as previously, and 75 per cent, of the subscriptions may be lent on shares of 3 years' j 85 per cent, on shares of four years' and 100 per cent, on shares of five years' standing and upwards. No expense whatever is incurred by borrowers of this class. Interest is allowed on Debentures at call for every day the money remains with the Society. The mutual principle is still carried out in its integrity, borrowers sharing equally in the profits with investors. It may be safely asserte'l thafc there is not another Society in the Australasian Colonies where borrowers are so liberally dealt with. For example they are permitted to repay the whole or any portion of the amount borrowed, in sums of £25 and upwards, at any time without previous notice, interest ceasing at once on ouch re-payments. The business of the Society is not extended to speculations of any kind, The utmost care is exercised in ascertaining the value of property on which advances are made.
