MR BAIN AT OTERAMIKA.
Mr Bain met the electors of Oteramika in the Schoolhouse last evening, there being about thirty-five persons present. Mr James Munro, Newfieid, was voted to the chair and briefly introduced the candidate. Mr Bain spoke for over an hour on the various subjects dealt with in his printed address, and was frequently applauded. He afterwards invited questions, and several were pat by Mr Richard Munro and Mr James Ritchie, and were fully replied to. So far from having beea wearied by the address of Mr Bain, the audience seemed disposed to prolong the meeting aud make the most of the opportunity of acquiriug political information. At length Mr Richard Muuro moved and Mr A. M'Kenzie seconded a vote of thanks to Mr Bain for his ableaddress, aud for the straightforward manner in which he had answered all questions. This was carried by acclamation, and after a vote of thanks to the chairman .proposed by Mr Bain, the meeting separated. We ought to have mentioned that the attendance would have been larger tut for the fact that the advertisement of the meeting bad not reached maDy in the district, the newspapers not having completed their round.
