Mercantile Agency Company report that" at the fourth sale of their series in Wellington, there was a good attendance of buyers who bid with spirit, and the rates for wool and skins were freely maintained. Prices realised were up to'7id for medium cross-bred and greasy; inferior (scoured), fetched 9d. No finer .^-qualities -were catalogned. Dry station skins full of wool and cross-breds commanded fire pence per pound ; and pelts up to Is 2d each ; medium cross-breds, 3s ; lamb skins, Is each. . First-class white mutton tallow, 27s 3d ; inferior (mixed). 18s 6d to 22s 6d. No hides offered.
