Editor Times, — "Abuse is no argument," is an old, trite aphorism, but who would not 'refrain from its application, stand aghast, and do obeisanGe to "Stringy Bark" when we learn from his announce- * ment that " be bas been, connected with a' timber trade in Tasiriania'bf £30,000' per month?" Thirty thpusand pounds per month is equal to - twelve milloijs of feet superficial ,of timber per, month, at 5s per 100 ft .; an immense out-turn. I bope that " Stringy " has not substituted £ -for ft. Might I ask this once-distinguished>indi : vidual to give tlie name of this great'concern — where- and when did it flourish? To think tbat " Stringy" has spent seventeen years here after having had' -such , valuable' experience' in- connection with that huge timber concern is surprising,— «-
