A petition was received from Thos. Miller and others for the construction of an asphalt pathway from the' corner of Dee and Spey ! streets northwards. — Ordered to lay on the; till next meeting. ' " ' The Public Works Committee's report was read as follows:— " Your committee report that Gala strreet and Forth.street are ready for metalling,. and it is most desirable that the work be executed ? before winter, and therefore . recommend . that if funds can be provided, tenders be. called for the work." . :. It was resolved that tbe Town Clerk's salary be increased by £50, to take effect from the fivst of February. On the motion of Councillor Goodwillie, it was resolved to hold a special meeting of tho Council on the 7th of February, to receive reports of committees on diffeient subjects requiring attention, it being understood that the question of a water supply for the town wil be then taken iuto consideration. -Councillor Johnson moved that the Finance Committee be authorised to -get ,the;debenr . tnres for the water works loan printed, but the motion was not seconded. It was resolved, on the motion of Coun^ cillor Dunlop thai a park drain be excavated from Elles road to the western boundary of the Park Reserve. The Council then adjourned.
