Mr Mcllwraith moved a vote of want of confidence, but the debate was adjourned. VICTORIA, UNDATED. Fires are raging in the Gippsland bush, and a railway station has been destroyed. PORT DARWIN, Undated. One hundred and sixty Chinese immigrants have been landed from Hong Kong. SYDNEY, Undated. At Father Chiniquy's lecture at Mudigee, an alarm of fire was raised, and a stampede ensued. The affair proved to be a hoax, and no casualties ensued. Mr Augustus Morris has accepted the Secretaryship of the Exhibition. Jan. lfi. Montgomery has been committed for trial for the Government House jewellery robbery, and on other charges. A new steam launch named the Lillie Densham, valued at £1800, was destroyed by fire this morning. The owners of the immigrant ship Hereford has been fined £500 for a breach of the charter party, regarding the water supply. MELBOURNE, Jan. 16. In the match between the Bohemian and the Canterbury teams, the former made 236 in their first innings. The Canterbury men then went a second time" and scored 105. The Bohemians in their second innings made 67 with the loss of two wickets, and thus won the game by eight wickets. George Martin and Co., have failed. It is stated their liabilities are heavy, and principally will be amongst English creditors.
