Among the many sad and pathetic incidents connected (With the Princess Alice disaster, few are more touching than the foUowing :— Dr Hardwick held an inquest at HoUoway on the body of Miss Ellen Hanbury, aged 20, who expired from the effects of immersion after the. collision of the Princess ABce. Mr Hanbury, a ,city merchant, and .brother to the deceased,- said that she -went on an excursion with her sweetheart and others. After the disaster, as she was a good' swimmer, she kept- afloat for two hours, getting,- nearly two miles from the scene of , the wreck, when she was takon into a boat. . , w Her sweetheart was with her then, but there " being only room for one, she was taken and he was left behind.
