LONDON. Jan. 3. Money is in less demand, and is dropping. The market rate for three months' bills is five per: cent. Large amounts of foreign gold have been taken into the bank,' and the reserve has increased .by nearly a million. The stock market is buoyant ; consols, 95£. The market for Colonial Government debentures is quiet. South Australian loan is fully subscribed for, the number of tenders lodged being 300, and the average price of tenders £S8 ss. Bank dividends were generally, small last year. The corn market has a downward tendency : Adelade wheat is neglected., and selling according to quality at from 39s to 50s.
