Association and Caledonian Society v • granted. This was seconded by Cot' - cillor Kingsland. CounciUor Johnson moved as an amer ment that the term for wliich the le-i&ei 3 granted be one year. It would be an e,i Al matter at the expiration of that time f the Council to renew permission, if ■. thought proper, but he failed to see a ■• good reason why the Council should f pledged for such a length of time as thr years. The amendment was second by Councillor GoodwiUie. After some remarks from the jVJh- a the amendment was put, ancl on the vc ± being declared to be equal, his Wor>. gave his casting vote in favor of the gi ± only being for one year. -y Mr Thos.
