SIE, — I notice in your last issue » paragraph reproducing an idea of the London correspondent of the New Zealand Herald, that Mr Vogal was about to a»k the sanction of the home Government for the issue of a i new loan, of £800,000, at four per cent, with the Imperial guarantee. The correspondent adds: — "As to the success of Mr Vogel's application I am not Tery sanguine." Probably not. The worthy correspondent seems to hare discovered a mare's nest. The fact is that the colony now holds the Imperial Guarantee lor a loan of £1,000,000 ; of which only £200,000 has yet been ia.»ed, and the remaining £800,000 can be issued at anj time, without troubling Lord Carnarvon j and, I should ("ay, at a somewhat lower interest than fcur per cent. — I am, &c, John R.
