tSYDA'ET, June 18. The Glen Jnnes Jockey Club has subscribed £1000 as a handicap for next meeting in 1875. MILBOTTBN:L'. The estate of the late J. C. Strachan, M.L.C., has been proved under £G5,000, and that of J. D. Pinnock under £41,000. Morley's draught horses have been sold. The highest price for stallions •was 280 guineas for " Shouldn't "Wonder," and for " Young Beaufort" 100 guineas. The Officials in Parliament Bill, which was read a second time in the Assembly, cancels the provision for preventing members from accepting any position of profit under the Crown. A School of Navigation has been formed in connection with the Sailors' Home. One of the banks is said to be largely involved in McEwan's estate, an attempt at the private settlement of which was unsuccessful. J. C. Kay has brought an action for illegal arrest against Constable McMeckin, who arrested him in Sydney: Damages are laid at £1000. Adelaide. Olive cultivation is increasing. The consumption of colonial wines exceeds the supply.
