Per Express— 7ssoft timber, Gkthi-ie & Larnach ; 25,000 ft do, Jack & Co ; 46 bales wool. Cargille, Gibbs, & Co ; 4 bales wool, 16 cask? sperm oil, Nichol & Tucker ; 1 parcel, Clark , 1 do, Mitchell. Per Endeavor — 16,000 ft timber, Jas. Dick. PASSENGEB LIST. Per Express, for Dunedin— Messrs Shale and M'Gregor, and one in the steerage.
The Estelle, with Captain Clare on board, made an unsuccessful attempt to get round to the New River. Owing to the stiff breeze in the Straits she was forced to run back to the lower anchorage again. All the cutters also that went out yesterday were all compelled to return. There was no appearance of either the s.s. Wanganui or b.s. Omeo when the Irain left &i 4 p.m.
