The Argu3 of the 10th inst. reports : — Tho market for breadstuffs is not lively, and there is little to report privately. Flour in bakers' lots continues to move off slowly at £13 10s to £13 12s 6d, bags returned. Under the hammer, this forenoon, about 16 tons were cleared off at £12 17s 6d to £13. Wheat is not dealt in, but on tho other hand offerings are too trifling to induce buyers to come forward. A small lot of medium was disposed ot publicly at 5s 9d. For prime we quote up to 6s. Wo note a much larger busi ness as having been done in oats. A small lot of Californian was disposed of by auction at 4s lOd. Privately, a line of 12,000 bushels changed hands on terms withheld. 1500 bushels Tasmanian were placed as 5s to 5s Id, and a line of 1450 bags Tasmanian is also stated to have been taken up. Maize has firmed under the influence of short supplies of late, and quotations, according to quantity, have been run up again to 4s 9d to 4a 9|d. Malting barley has been quitted at 6s.
