T VENDERS will he received as under till the 22nd day of December next from parties willing to run a Steamer every month, for a period of six months, or more if agreed on, from Melbourne direct to the port of Invercargill, carrying Her Majesty's mails. "VITITH the view of effecting a complete * * and accurate Census of the Province tf Southland in the course of tee present month, the Provincial Government is desirous to obtain the services of a resident in each Census District, in order to distribute and collect the Census Forms ; a list of the Census Districts is given below, and persons who are willing to act as Enumerators will apply at this office until 15th instant. Yillow Bluff Road, between Waimatuku River and Flint's Bush. — Tendprs will be received till noon of the loth in3tant for t c execution of the following work : — Approach on east side of Waimatuku to be filled in and levelled 24 feet wid«. Cut 50 links of ditching on upper side leading into the river east and west; banks of river to be sloped off, so tbat drays can conveniently go* in and out. 24 feet wide. Level approaches to swamp ; construct culvert 18 inches square, 24 feet long, filling and forming road 2 feet high, 45 links in length ; cut side drains to ditto, each 3 feet wide on top, 2 feet 6 inches deep, andO inches at bottom ; also, 5 chains of outfall drains of same dimensions as above, to discharge freely into Tunamai Creek, over which construct bridge of 12 feet span, raised I foot nhove level of bnnks ; form approaches thereto, about 20 links at each end ; cover floor of bridge one foot deep with sound soil. Maori Head Creek : Construct culvert 24 feet long, 2 feet square, forming road and cutting drains on each side for 25 links, cut outfall drain 60 links. Construct culvert 20 inches square. 24 feet long, 2\ chains of ditching on either side, and cut outfall, it free discharge can bo obtaindd within six chains ; all ditches to be 50 feet apart, leaving a clear roadway of 44 feet, at pc r Bridge, per Culvert, and per Chain for ditching and forming, or for the whole work. 162. Fencing. — Tenders will be received hert ft t till noon of 17th instant for Fencing the Cemetery at Riverton. Plan and specification of which may be ecen here, and at tbe Office of Messrs "-urnam & Crerar, Riverton, after Wednesday next, the 10th inst. lE3.
