CHORAL SOCIETY CONCERT.

The final concert for this season of the Shannon Choral Society will be given on Thursday, November 26, in Muoriland Theatre when the best programme of the season will be rendered and the public may look forward to a rich treat. As requested by the public some of the choral items of the last concert will be repeated and the additional items will be “The Long Day Closes,'’ Mozaft’s “Gloria in Excelsis,” and the humorous item “The Catastrophe.’’ The Society is very fortunate in their soloists, and have a galaxy of them. Mrs Stan. Barber, whose rich voice lias delighted many large audiences; 1 Miss Naomi Whalley, who took a prominent part in the rendering by the Palmerston Choral Society of “Les Cloches de Gorneville,” and received great praise; Miss B. Smart, of Wanganui, will assist; and Miss Aim, of Shannon, well-known in local circles. Mr A. Mottersliead will sing by request “The Rosary,” and Mr Aitken, of Moutoa, possessing a very fine baritone voice, will also sing and Mr Amos McKegg will assist in elocutionary items. Mr Geo. Lester, a champion cornet player, will render a stlo, and instrumental quartettes will be given by Miss Neale and party. There will be popular prices, viz., 2s and Is, and tickets are beingsold by the school children and members, and doubtless there will be a bumper house.
