THE EASTER TOURNAMENT
THE PLAY TO-DAY,
Play was started at the tennis courts punctually at 9.15 this morning, and was kept going hard all day. There was a fair attendance of spectators, and the weather was very fine. In the Ladies’ Champion Singles, Miss McCahon beat Miss Fooks 9-5, and Miss L. Revell beat Miss Dougless 9-1. In the Men’s Handicap Singles, R. V. Tennent (owe 4-6ths of 15) beat Onvin (owe 30 1-6) 10-8, Didsbury (owe 15 4-6) beat Cox (owe 30 5-6) 9-3, Barnard (owe 15 1-6) beat Thompson (rec. 4-6 of 15) 9-5. Second Round.— Friedlander (rec. 4-6 of 15) beat Revell (owe 30) 9-6. In the Ladies’ Handicap Doubles, Misses McCahon and Tennent (owe 15 1-6) beat Misses L. Revell and Ziesler (owe 30) 9-1. In the Combined Doubles, Cameron and Miss McCahon (owe 40) heat R. C. Tennent and Miss M. Tennent (rec. 4-6 of 15) 9-6.
Jn the Men’s Doubles, Wright and Barnard (scr) beat McCaskill and Brown (owe 2-6 of 15) 11-9; ■ Fielden and Halley (owe 30) beat G. Friedlander and Owen (scr) 9-6; R. C. and R. V. Tennent (rec. 15 1-6) beat Didsbury and Orwin (owe 15) 9-3.
