The warship Plover nas been sent to the Elliot and Blonde islands to suppress pirates, who captured a number of junks. Admiral Alexief! protested that the action was unwarrantable, as the Islands belonged to Russia. Admiral Seymour referred the matter to the Home Government. Received 12.24 a.m., January 29th. CHINESE NEWS. China has demanded the possession of public buildings, the cessation of expeditions, and the early withdrawal of troops. Ministers replied that mere acceptance of the principle of the Allies’ demands is insufficient. The guilty must be punished before withdrawal is considered.
Received 10.53 a.m., January 29th. PARIS, January 25. The Chamber of Deputies by a great majority decided to discuss the Religions Associations BiU.
