THE GRENADIER GUARDS OR DERED TO THE FRONT.
United Press Association—Per Ekctric Telegraph—Copyright. Received 12.38 a.m., January 29th; MELBOURNE, January 28. The Second Grenadier Guards, who are with the Imperial Contingent, have been instructed to proceed to South Africa, and leave about the 11th February with the Fifth Contingent.
A BOER DELEGATE SPEAKS OUT,

Wolmarans, one of the Boer peace delegates, writing from Paris to his relations at Heilbron says:—“l have been through Europe and can testify that our leaders are stuffing us with lies.” The War Office has ordered 25,000 tons of New Zealand oats in ten days.

WANGANUI, January 28.
Six trooper’s, four of the Alexandra Cavalry and two from Ruanui, returned home to-day. A large and enthusiastic crowd was at the station. The men were taken to the • Metropolitan Hotel, where their healths were drunk and speeches made.
