TENNIS.

The return tennis match between the Geraldine County Club and the Timaru Club took place on Saturday afternoon on the terrace court. The weather was most favourable, and there was a good attendance fora Saturday match. The Geraldine players, who have grass courts, found Cthe asphalt very fast, and the visiting ladies especially found this a great disadvantage to them. Some good tennis was seen, and three of the sets were very doss and exciting. The Geraldine players had lunch in the pavilion, and during the afternoon the ladies of the Timaru Club dispensed very acceptable afternoon tea.
