United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received January 4th, 9.40 a.m. London, . January 3. Tallow.—At the sales, 14&5 casks were offered and 925 casks were sold. Mutton, fine, 28s 3d ; medium, 275. Beef, fine, 27s 3d ; medium 265. Copper.—The supplies received during the past month were 24,720 tons ; deliveries, 27,668 tons ; stocks, 22,817 tons; quantity advised afloat, 2900 tons. Silver, 2s 3d.

Nelsons’ have received the following cable from the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, London The frozen meat market is very depressed. There has been a fall in value of Dunedin and North Island mutton. Quotations are—Beat Canterbury, 3id ; Dunedin and Southland, 2£d ; Napier and North Island, 2fd. Lamb, first quality, 4£d ; second quality, 4id.
