FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the newly formed football club was held in Geraldine on Tuesday evening last, there being a fair attendance. Mr Roberts occupied the chair. It was resolved that as it was too late to enter a team for the Junior or President’s trophy, the question of joining the South Canterbury Union be left in abeyance, pending further information. It was also resolved that the colo&rs of the club be dark blue with light blue sash. On the motion of Mr McLeod Mr Guy Macdonald was unanimously chosen captain, and Mr Roberts deputy-captain. The meeting closed with thanks to the chair and to Mr Turner for the use of his room. The thanks of the club are greatly due to Mr H B. Webster, who with his characteristic generosity has placed a ground at their disposal.
