The last of the teat matches between England and Australia began at Manchester to-day. Coningham, Jarvis, and W. Giffen stand out of the colonial learn. The weather is cold and inclement, but «n excellent wicket baa been prepared. The attendance was only moderate. The Australians batted first, and were all disposed of for 204 rune. The leading scores wore Lyons Bannerman ... 19 Trott 9 Graham 1® Bruce Lyons scored rapidly, but both Banmerman and Giffen played cautiously, and an hour’s play only rerlised 53. B ruce and Graham steadily increased the score, the former batting in excellent style. Giffen was given out on a doubtful decision. Bannerman and Trott were grandly caught at third man. Gregory vras out first ball. COUNTY CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP. Yorkshire has won the County Cricket Championship.
