LABOUR ITEMS.
(Per Electric Telegraph—Oopyrigm.) (Per Press Association.) (Received noon, Fob. Bth.) Melbourhb, Feb. 8 At Soots Church yesterday the Rev. Mr Marshall referred to the unemployed and said the countiy should provide bread or work for them. A large body of unemployed who were present enthusiastically cheered the sermon. Dr Bevan announc.d that he would address the unemployed in the afternoon, but on reaching the place of meeting h e found a Socialist flag flying, and bo took his departure, after expressing sympathy with the men. The Trades and Labour Association passed a resolution to the effect that Parliament be urged to provide relief works for the unemployed.
