T. 0.0. ELEVEN V. COMBINED TEAM EIGHTEEN. The match was commenced on the grounds of the former club yesterday afternoon, and so far is in favour of the T.O 0. The T. 0.0. winning the toss elected to bat, Mclntosh and Williams being the opposing bowlers. With 2 wickets down for 6, things did not. look well (or the old club, but when Morrison joined Jefferson runs came fast, and in spile of several changes in the bowling this pair were not separated until 130 wore reached, fihe remainder of the batsmen, except Malcolmson, did not give much trouble, the total at the fall of the last wicset being 189. Morrison played a splendid innings for bis runs despite three cbancea, and he was well backed up by Jefferson, who made' his runs iu. bis usual well known style, his innings being marred by two chances, both hard ones. Williams was the most successful bowler for his side, taking 6 wickets for 51 runs- On the combined team going in to bat wickets fell fast until Bussell and Thompsons became partners, when a stand was made, the latter showing almost perfect defence. Hughes and bis mates were however, not to be denied, the total at the call of time being 15 for 8 wickets. The combined team were very weak, in fielding, and there is no doubt that had their fielding been on a par with their bowling, a far closer match would have resulted. The .game will be resumed next Thursday afternoon, when the combined team ought to give the older club a close finish •. —
