Professor Kentoul, who has made a tour of North Queensland with Professor Drummond, gives a deplorable account of the degradation of the native blacks, by opium, grog, and immorality of the women with low whites. He says : -It is only by seeing for one’s self that any adequate notion can bo formed of the condition of 'the aborigines. It was I confess a shook of surprise and pain tp me.”
