AUCKLAND, July 3.

At a meeting of flour-millers and others, it was unanimous decided to form a union to be called the Auckland branch of the United Millers, Engine-Drivers, and Mill Employees Society of New Zealand. This is consequent upon a similar movement at Tiraaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. Mr John By croft, who is a master miller, was appointed president. He said that though he did not know how his acceptance of the office would affect his position with other employers, he was in full sympathy with any good object of the union.

WANGANUI, July 3. It has been decided by the butchers’ em-

ployees to form a union on the lines of the j Wellington union. A meeting is called for next Tuesday to put the affair in good work- } ing order.

The Vt'hui’f Labourers’ Union bavo declined to accept the suggestion ot the Sydney Union that the entrance fee to all branches of the Union throughout the colony be fired at £5 Gs. They also disapprove of the introduction of the system of the equalisation of labour.
