AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. “ Messrs Grade, Maclean and Co, report for the past fortnight, as follows > HORSES. On the 7th inst.,our entry at the Timaru Horse Bazaar was better than for some time both as regards numbers and quality, and Dearly all the best class of draughts changed hands. To-day only 22 head were entered,and but little business done, sellers and buyers evidently holding baok for the annual sale at j Washdyke yards on Tuesday, the 17th. We quote sales of medium to good draughts at, from £l2, 10s to .£25, inferior .£8 to ,£lf Hacks—rA few medium sorts have chang< J( j hands at small money, but weeds are uusr doable at any price. [sheep. At Pleasant Point, on the 2nd iust..., there was a large entry, and sales were, easily effected of all classes of fat sheep and well forward stores. Wo sold on account; of Mr John Patterson, 328 2-tooths at 1.5 s ; on account of Mr J. Fanning, 291 2-tr Jo ths at 16s Bd, 31 fat ewes at i3s 4d ; on accr mnt of MrE. Korslake, 136 2-tooth wethers at 12s lid ; 55 do do at 10a 9d, 66 ewes at 9s 1 d ; on account of Mr A. Meo, 327 fat ewes at 9a, 153 ewes at 7s ; on account of Mr T. McC /0 01, 38 lambs at 6s 6d, and 12 wethers at 10s \d ; on account of Mr A. Clelland, 71 fat ewes at 12s 9d. At Makikihi monthly sa’.e on Monday, only a few pens were entered. We sold 110 2-tooth wethers at 13s Id, 154 lambs at 5s BJ, 62 merino ewes at 4s 3d. At Washdyke yarda we sold 36 ewes and Wethers at 10s, 29 do do at 14s 9d, 101 crossbred ewes at 8s 2d., 74 fat wethers at 14s 6d,22 do do at 12s Gd.. We have also placed privately on acco;,mt of sundry owners—4s2s,viz., 2541 merino lambs, 318 crossbred lambs, 310 do do, 400,2-tooth merino ewes and wethers, 873 crossbred wethers, and 83 fat do. CATTLE. At the different sales during the fortnight, entries under this head have been smolL Fat cattle are now in demand, and owners may rely on obtaining full value for them. Business in stores is slack, owing in a great measure to the scarcity of feect. We sold 4 steers at .£3 17s 6d, 2 yearlings at 16s, 6: heifers at 255, 7 bullocks at .£5 ss, 6 do at .£5 2s 6d. SKINS. At onr regular sale, on the-4th insl., we sold 840 skins. The local buyers were all present, and the prices realised were quite up.to our expectations. Butchers’ green skins fetched from 4s 4d to 4s Bd, country dry crossbreds (best) 3s 9d to 4s 6d, medium 2s to 3s 6d, pelts 3d to 9d. 9 bales and 12 bags wool also sold at full values. Privately we disposed of 900 factory skins. COUNTRY SALE. On the 6th June, in conjunction with Mr 'F. M. Rickman, we held a sale of horses on account of Messrs McGoverin and Hardie, at Seafield Farm, near the Hook. There was a large attendance of farmers and others, and bidding throughout the sale was. brisk. 1 3-year-old draught colts and fillies realised up 1 to .£26, 2-year-old do from J 613 to J 826 10s, I draught mares and geldings £l9 to .£27.
