The postmen and the police threaten to go out on strike, if their demands for increased wages are not granted. (Per Press Association.) (Received 6.15 p.m., June 15th.) London, J une 14. The police urge that Mr Munro be reinstated, and they threaten to strike on the 20th unless they are bettor paid. (By Telegraph.) NAPIER, June 16. A branch of the Postal and Telegraph Officers’ Society was formed here last night. WELLINGTON, June 14, The lime for the receipt of the tramway proprietors’ ultimatum, in respect to the concessions demanded by the Trades and Labour Council, has been extended to Tuesday evening. At a large meeting of officers of the Wellington Postal and Telegraph Service on Saturday, a resolution was cai.ied, affirming the desirability of, and agreeing to form, a branch of the New Zealand Postal and Telegraph Society. Forty-eight members were enrolled, and an interim committee were elected to further the movement in the Wellington district. GREYMOUTH. June 14. Branches of • the Postal and Telegraph Officers’ Association have been formed at Greymouth, Hokitika, and Westport, which include nearly every office on the West Coast.
