Dummyism at Highlay.

(By Telegraph.)

DUNEDIN, June 11,

The eases of alleged dummyism at Highlay came up at the Land Board to-day. Banger Hughan reporting on tho petition, stated that he had visited the districts and found none of the sections were personally occupied. Griffen became insolvent sometime ago, and the lease of his land was sold by the official assignee to Robert Leo, who also gets the name of being a dummy though the ranger could not say whether this was true or not. He recommended that Christina Mcßae, who is now married and settled at Mossburn, and Donald Mcßain should be called upon to show cause why their leases should not be forfeited. The board decided that nothing could be done for a mouth or two in Lee’s case, but it was decided to call ou Me Bain and Christina Mcßae to show cause.
