Arrived—Mararoa from Auckland. The The racehorses Leopold, Dolorosa, Fabulous, and Montrose which were shipped by her in charge of J. Kean, have arrived safely.

Arrived—yesterday Waihora from the Bluff. NEW CALEDONIA, Mr Gillies does not attach any credit to the press cable message received a few days ago, stating that it was probable that the proportion of recidivistes sent to New Caledonia would be considerably increased. Sir Graham Berry has special instructions to cable any contemplated action on the part of France with regard to New Caledonia that is annnounced but he (Mr Gillies) has not yet received any official information on the subject. THE CITY OF PARIS. The Admiralty have awarded £BOO for the salvage of the steamer City of Paris disabled by an accident to her machinery some weeks ago.
