CHRISTCHURCH, June 13.

Mr John Cowell Boys, C E., one of the earliest officers in the Canterbury Surrey Deparlm nt, died this morning, aged 64, of congestion of the lungs. He was an active member of the Acclimatisation Society,Waste Lands, and Charitable Aid and Hospital Boards, and was generally respected. He leaves a giown up son and daughter. The former is engaged on public works in Tasmania.
