Spurgeon, Dr Temple, Bishop of London, Dr Vaughan Master of the Temple, aud Messrs Gladstone and Morley, Lord Hartington and Lord R. Churchill, are members of the committee appointed to consider a memorial to tho lato Father Damien, who died at his post among the lepers of Molokoi in the Sandwich Islands. The Prince of Wales presided at the meeting. SPORTING ITEMS. The Australian horse Ringmaster’s weight for tho Ascot Royal Hunt Cup is Bst 31b. Sir H. James opened the case for plaintiff in Chetwynd v. Durham, in which the Jockey Club has undertaken to arbitrate.
