Perkins was charged with using insulting language to 11. Lane in a public place. The case was allowed to bo withdrawn on the application of complainant.

Ellen Cleve was fined 3s for allowing three head of cattle to wander on the public road, civin CASES. Edmund and McKerras v. Matenga, claim £5 17s 9d. This case was adjourned to the 20th instant to allow of an affidavit of jurisdiction to be made by plaintiff, G. E. Freeman v, Finleyson, claim £2 ss. Judgment by default for amount claimed and costs.

McNamara v. same, claim £4. Judgment by consent with costs. Stantan v. Hawkins; claim £6 4a 4d. Mr Hamilton for plaintiff, and Mr Clement for defendant.

His Worship made the following order—- “ That defendant be ordered to pay the judgment debt of £l4 2s 3d on or before noon on the 25th July, or in default to be imprisoned in the Waimate police gaol for 21 days.
