The Eev. C. Oloraenfc will conduct the services in the Primitive Methodist Church tomorrow. The usual weekly meeting of the Life Boat Lodge was held last evening in the Barnard St. hall. Bro. Griffiths C.T. presided, and there was a fair attcndauce of members. Correspondence and other routine business was disposed of. The lodge indulged in harmony, after which the meeting terminated in the usual manner. The Payne family, who are to appear in Timaru on Thursday and Friday next, have won the warmest praise from the Press of Australia and of Dunedin for their skill as musicians. They are natives of Ballarat, and their photographs now displayed in shop windows in town, tell that Ballarat can boast of. having some good looking people. Contrary to the old saw which says that " a prophet has no honour in his own country,” tlie people of Ballarat have fully recognised the skill of the Paynes, and at home they stand high in popular estimation. As pianisls, violinists, and flautists they have worked so long together that their performances are remarkable for precision and perfection of harmony. We ore led by the terms in which our Australian and southern contemporaries speak of them, to anticipate really musical entertainment from them. The noted quality of the Coffee made in the Cafes of Turkey, France, and America is chiefly due to the fact that only Fresh Boasted Coffee is used ; so that none of the volatile oil and other essentials are lost. Ask your grocer for Anderson’s Coffee, and you will have a beverage alike refreshing and stimulating, as it is fresh roasted and ground at the factory, Timaru.— FAdvt.l
