Electoral Address.
(By Telegraph.) INVERCARGILL, May 22. Mr Cowan, member for Hokonui, addressed his electors last night, receiving a vote of thanks and confidence. In his address he said that the future of the present Parliament lay in tho presence of a number of New Zealand born members, whose conduct gave hope that they would make first rate statesmen. He eulogised Mr Richardson’s land administration and thought the time would come when education above the fourth standard would have to be paid for. Charitable Aid was too lavish and the cost should come from general property and not from land alone. He praised the Government’s effsrts to retrench and said he would continue to support them.
