Diocesan Synod.
(By Telegbaph.) CHRISTCHURCH, May sl. A special session of the Diocesan Synod was opened to-day to consider the question of payment of property tax on the English loan, and the management of tho property by the Church Property Trustees, between whom and the Bishop there are several differences of opinion. Nothing has yet been done, the synod having adjourned to allow members to examine documents. The trustees refuse to submit to the Bishop’s veto of their measures, contending that he has only the power of an individual member of the board.
