AUCKLAND, May 15,

While a football match was being played between the Mangapai and Waikikio teams, and only about five {minutes after beginning the game, Mr J. Pitman, a strongly built half caste and a good player was killed, by a kick just below the heart, or possibly by falling and thus meeting the blow. It seems he ran a short distance, dropped in a stooping position with bis hand across tho pit of his stomach, and exclaimed “ I’ve been kicked or something,” fell back and was gone.
