Tho Alameda with English mails of 20th inst., left San Francisco for Auckland on the sth inst,, one day late. The Mariposa with colonial mails of the 22nd and 24th ult. arrived at San Francisco from Auckland on the 12th inst.

A. W. Q-011, a mining expert from London, who has been] inspecting the Beefton mines in the interests of English capitalists, has completed his work here, and proceeds on Thursday to Lyoll to inspect the mines there, lie expresses no opinion whatever locally.

Tho lonic’s mails leave for Wellington per Eotorua to-day. The passengers and cargo were transhipped to the Coptic, which leaves on Friday for Eio.
